The Gardenscaping Concept

We have been told by many people that they come to Barlows to walk around, look at beautiful plants and unwind from their hectic days.  With that in mind, we created “Gardenscaping”.   The idea behind this service is to provide our customers with an environment that reflects beauty, nature, and works in sync with their homes design.   To do this, we connect with each customer and their property. By understanding personal tastes and environmental conditions, we can create an atmosphere that most people leave home to find.

This is achieved with a personal consultation at the customer’s home…..

The Home Consultation

Here we will meet and discuss the desires of each customer by walking their property, discovering what they like, don’t like and wish they had.  At this time we will conduct a site analysis. Sun exposure, soil type and water sources all reflect on what types of plants will thrive in the specific location. With this important information on hand we can offer our customer choices for their garden’s style, function and individuality.  Working together, we can then visualize the gardens unique potential.

Some people will take this information and begin to create their own garden.  With a 10% discount on plant material and direction from our retail staff many have completed what was once a vision and return with photos of their gardens to celebrate their accomplishments. For some, the process is best left to the pros.

Design Service

After the consultation the information gathered provides a guide to create a design.  We create artistic plant selections and combine that with the natural flow of the property and size of the home. The design itself may range from a simple freehand sketch to a measured scale drawing.  With the design we provide a proposal including a detailed plant list and cost analysis.  We will then meet with the customer at Barlow’s to display samples of the plants proposed and provide any information to help the customer completely understand the process of implementing the design. 

Upon approval of the design and costs, we are ready to start…..

Installation and Maintenance

Our Gardenscape team is made up of talented and experienced people who work at Barlows all year and understand the quality and uniqueness that we strive to provide. The plant material arrives at your house in excellent condition and is available for your inspection prior to planting. Work is done in a professional manner and each of our team members feels a genuine sense of accomplishment when the garden is completed.   No job is considered finished until the customer is completely satisfied.

To keep the environment healthy and thriving we are available for maintenance and upkeep.
Our maintenance programs are on a per need basis. By inspecting each property regularly, we can monitor the growth and stamina of the plant material. When necessary, practices such as pruning and weeding may prevent insect damage and reduce the use of pesticides and herbicides by up to 100%.  The maintenance program assures that your property looks its best at all times.  Barlow’s realizes that  the purpose of a garden or landscape is to enhance the home’s beauty while adding to its value. Though to us, it’s an expression of personal style, and the true value is the ability to enjoy one’s own surroundings.
