Workshop: Layered Bulb Pot

Think about those long days of winter when it feels like it will never end. This class will help you chase those winter blues away with a burst of colorful blooms just when you need it most. We show you how to layer an oval pot with bulbs (a $50.00 value). We over-winter your pot in our toasty greenhouses for the next 3 months. In February, you pick up your pot, place it in a cool sunny window and you have a burst of color for the next month. Spring won’t be far behind!

Workshop: Autumn’s Masterpiece

Create a stunning fall masterpiece for your door or mantle using a grapevine wreath. Attach a variety of botanicals to it, including lotus pods, assorted grasses, dried autumn flowers, and oak leaves. Finish the desired look with a ribbon of your choosing.

Class: The Art of Orchids

Do you love the elegance and beauty of orchids, but are hesitant to try your hand at growing them? David from Waldor Orchids will de-mystify these tropical gems. This workshop will introduce the popular genera of orchids and highlight those best suited for home and greenhouse growing. You will explore their growth requirements and how their needs differ from those of other houseplants. Learn about their natural habitat and briefly review their plant structure. Orchids lend a welcome touch of the exotic to dark winter days, and make the ideal gift.

Amaryllis and paper white bulbs are among the easiest to grow for dazzling holiday flowers. Amaryllis is big colorful, long lasting, easy and is a gorgeous addition to any holiday centerpiece. Paper whites are a favorite known for lovely fragrance on tables and windowsills. Our design staff will show will show you creative ways to use these bulbs and tips for re-blooming next season.

Aromatherapy – an introduction to a healthier lifestyle through organics, aromatherapy, natural products and understanding harmful carcinogens. Lean about meditation, breathing exercises and aromatherapy inhalation. Learn techniques on how to enhance the body’s circulation and build a healthier immune system.

Hand Massage - learntechniques forhand massage featuring organic natural sugar scrubs and lotions. A great way to soothe those tired hands from wrapping presents! Anintroduction to bath and body products including scented misters such as citrus, lavender and rose tohelp you unwind at night after a long day of shopping!

Soap Making - create your own unique soap using Healing Touch's organic natural products and essential oils from around the world. A gift for you or someone you love!

WORKSHOP: SOAP & BUBBLE WORKSHOP FOR KIDS (ages 4 & up)

The Healing Touch team will entrance your childrenduring story time while they brew up some soapy fun. Children and young people can create their own soaps in a fun innovative environment. Kids will have an opportunity to make soaps, bath fizzies and create bags to take their creations home. Fun activities for the tweens in your life – learn how to make their own favorite scented soap or lotion!

WORKSHOP: POINSETTIA MAGIC

Join us to celebrate the Barlow Poinsettia! Spend the afternoon with us and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of thousands of our own farm grown poinsettias.

1:00 - POINSETTIA CARE w/Stephen Barlow III - learn about the origin of the poinsettia and dispel common myths (poinsettias are not poisonous to humans or pets!), how to care for your poinsettia now and after the holidays including how re-bloom your poinsettia next holiday season!

2:00 - POINSETTIA WORKSHOP w/George Burns – create unusual living art through this European technique of the painted or glittered poinsettia. You will make at least two poinsettias in the class. (material fee $29 + tax)

3:00 - POINSETTIA HOLIDAY DÉCOR w/Barlow Design Team – learn a variety of ways as to use poinsettia’s in centerpieces and throughout your home this holiday season.
